Concert hall · Reykjavík
Eldborg
The reverberation in Eldborg can be set anywhere between 1.7 and 3.8 seconds, a range that lets one room suit a string quartet at one end and a full orchestra at the other. It is nineteen metres to the ceiling. Seating runs from 1,442 to 1,734 depending on how much stage the evening needs and whether the choir stalls are in, and there is a pit for an orchestra and balconies behind the platform as well as beside it. The United States Institute of Theatre Technology gave the hall an award for its acoustics.

Visiting
- Access
- The hall has eight wheelchair spaces, booked through Harpa's box office. In a few places on the floor and the balconies a loose chair can be taken out to make room for a wheelchair; those places are charged for, need booking well ahead, and are not offered at every event. A visitor with a guide or assistance dog is seated on the third balcony. The building's infrared listening system for hearing aids reaches this hall.
