The Symphony at Dark Music Days
Presented by Iceland Symphony Orchestra
The orchestra plays at Dark Music Days, the festival for new music. Two works are heard for the first time anywhere: a new piece by Kjartan Sveinsson, who is known from Sigur Rós, and Sixty Silver Domes by Haukur Tómasson. Carolin Widmann is the soloist in Clara Iannotta's new violin concerto, written for her. Bára Gísladóttir's sea sons seasons is heard for the first time in Iceland, and Þuríður Jónsdóttir's Miss Reykjavík Rita dates from 2014. Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason conducts. Under two hours with an interval.
