St Matthew Passion

In 2027 it is three hundred years since Bach's St Matthew Passion was first performed. Benedikt Kristjánsson conducts and sings the Evangelist himself. With him are Herdís Anna Jónasdóttir, Sveinn Dúa Hjörleifsson and Oddur Arnþór Jónsson, along with Anton Haupt as Jesus and the countertenor Reginald Mobley. Three choirs take part: Kór Langholtskirkju, Mótettukórinn and the school choir of Kársnesskóli. About three hours with an interval.
