The parish of Grafarvogur was founded in June 1989 and held its services in a community centre until it had a church. Vigfús Þór Árnason was its first parish priest, and this concert is in memory of him and of his wife, Elín Pálsdóttir. Sigrún Hjálmtýsdóttir, known as Diddú, sings with Gissur Páll Gissurarson, Jóhann Friðgeir Valdimarsson and Matthías Matthíasson, and with them Kór Grafarvogskirkju, Vox Populi and Frímúrarakórinn. Guðný Einarsdóttir, Lára Bryndís Eggertsdóttir and Jónas Þórir conduct. The takings go undivided to the fund the parish has opened for a new organ, and tickets are sold at the church itself, during opening hours, in the last days before the concert.
