Bústaðakirkja gives a concert at five past twelve every Wednesday in October and collects for Ljósið, a centre in Reykjavík that describes its work as rehabilitation for people who have had a cancer diagnosis. The series is headed Lífið er fegurð og gleði, life is beauty and gladness. This Wednesday two singers take it, Íris Björk Gunnarsdóttir and the soprano Herdís Anna Jónasdóttir. Jónas Þórir, the church organist, puts the lunchtime programme together each year. Admission is free and a collection is taken for Ljósið. There are refreshments afterwards in the parish hall for a small charge.
