Edward Gardner conducts Beethoven 9

Beethoven's ninth symphony on its own, the day after it is played alongside Prokofiev's violin concerto. Three movements shaped by inward conflict give way to a fourth carrying Friedrich Schiller's Ode to Joy. Edward Gardner conducts, and with him are soloists, Söngsveitin Fílharmónía and the Langholtskirkja Choir. The concert is held with Arctic Circle and the Höfði Peace Centre. Just under an hour and a half, without an interval.
