Söngsveitin Fílharmónía

A choir founded in 1960 by Róbert Abraham Ottósson and others who wanted to sing the classical choral repertoire. For its first twenty-five years it worked closely with the Iceland Symphony, and it has been on its own since. It was nominated for an Icelandic Music Award in 2014 for Brahms' German Requiem. It has sung four times in Klassíkin okkar, the orchestra's season-opening concert, performed Mozart's Requiem with the North Iceland Symphony and Beethoven's Ninth with the Iceland Symphony Youth Orchestra, and taken the choral parts in Evita and Moulin Rouge in Harpa. It has sung at choral gatherings across Europe, most recently in Florence.
