Two portraits side by side, Joaquín Páll Palomares with his violin and Nína Margrét Grímsdóttir.

The violinist Joaquín Páll Palomares and the pianist Nína Margrét Grímsdóttir have given recitals together for years and now share the stage of Norðurljós for the first time. They play Beethoven's Sonata in A major, Op. 30 No. 1, Mendelssohn's Sonata in F major, de Falla's Danse espagnole in Kreisler's arrangement, a selection of Spanish virtuoso pieces and Ravel's Tzigane. Joaquín Páll leads the second violins of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, held the same post in the Iceland Symphony before, and has played in the Kordo Quartet since 2018, on a violin by Gagliano from about 1750. Nína Margrét has made five recordings for BIS, Naxos, Acte Préalable and Skref and holds a doctorate in piano from the City University of New York.
