Between Worlds

Presented by Iceland Symphony Orchestra

Barbara Hannigan and the recorder player Lucie Horsch appear with musicians from the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in Norðurljós. The programme is gathered from far apart: Luciano Berio's settings of folk songs from several countries, a Telemann double concerto for recorder and flute, Romanian dances and three Hungarian folk songs by Bartók, a Serbian traditional dance, Piazzolla's Libertango, and the Icelandic folk song Móðir mín í kví kví in Barbara Hannigan's arrangement. Horsch plays the recorder and sings mezzo-soprano. About two hours with an interval.
