Árstíðir's Festive Concert

Árstíðir were formed in Reykjavík in 2008. Three singers take turns at the lead, and the harmony between them is the centre of the band's sound. They once sang an eight hundred year old hymn, unrehearsed, in a railway station, and the recording of it travelled widely. Their ninth album, Vetrarsól, came out in 2024. They have given festive concerts every year since 2008, and this winter they sing in Fríkirkjan, the Free Church in Reykjavík, on 27 December, and in Akureyri Church on the 30th. The programme is their own music with festive and Christmas songs. The bass singer Pétur Oddbergur Heimisson joins them, and so does the French string duo who play with the band abroad: Jean-Samuel Bez on violin and Guillaume Lagravière on cello.
