Poga conducts Shostakovich

Rachmaninoff's tone poem Isle of the Dead takes its title and its subject from a painting by Arnold Böcklin. After it comes Shostakovich's thirteenth symphony, Babi Yar, written for bass, male choir and orchestra on poems by Yevgeny Yevtushenko. Alexander Roslavets sings, and with him are Karlakórinn Fóstbræður and Sönghópurinn Kyrja. Andris Poga conducts. About two hours with an interval.
