Sönghópurinn Kyrja

A male voice ensemble of professional singers, founded in 2022, which sets out to widen what people take choral music to be. It has given first performances of works by Hafsteinn Þórólfsson and Philip Barkhudarov, and it works with musicians from other kinds of music: it has sung with Júníus Meyvant and Kaleo, recorded for the video game God of War Ragnarök, and appeared in the Pokalagið sketch in Áramótaskaupið, the new year's eve revue on Icelandic television, in 2022. Philip Barkhudarov and Sólveig Sigurðardóttir are its artistic directors.
