In caelo et in terra

Kór Hallgrímskirkju marks its first album, In caelo et in terra, with a concert in the church. The record is new Icelandic sacred music: every work on it was commissioned and first sung by this choir, and all of them set Latin texts that the church has used for centuries. Hallgrímskirkja issues the disc on the fortieth anniversary of the building's consecration and the choir's fifth. Steinar Logi Helgason conducts, Björn Steinar Sólbergsson plays the organ, and the sopranos are Jóna G. Kolbrúnardóttir and Sólbjörg Björnsdóttir. Admission is free.
