Árbæjarlaug Pool

Árbæjarlaug was designed by the architects Úti og inni and opened on 30 April 1994. When the foundations were dug, a crack and a fault line were found beneath the pool, and the whole of it was moved some forty metres north-west, towards Fylkir's football ground. The outdoor pool is 25 metres long, and a ten-metre indoor pool connects with it. There is also a wading pool, four hot pots running from 37 to 43 degrees, a cold pot beside the steam room and a slide 33.5 metres long.

Access
Two accessible parking spaces, raised and heated, are at the entrance. The way in is at ground level with no steps or thresholds, and one of the two doors at the main entrance has an electric opener. A private changing room with a bathing bench is beside the indoor pool, and every changing room has shower chairs and a toilet with grab rails. The changing rooms, both pools, the hot pots and the steam room can all be reached without a barrier. There is a lift at the indoor pool and a portable lift for the hot pots, whose edges are raised in places and level with the ground in others.
