On Thursday 10 December the Swedish mezzo sings twice in the same hall: at 18:00 and at 20:30. Harpa added the earlier concert after demand for the evening filled up, and general sales for 18:00 opened on 9 October. Seating in Norðurljós is limited; tickets sit around 9,990 to 14,990 krónur.
She brings Bengt Forsberg at the piano, her partner in recital for decades, and Fabian Fredriksson on guitar. Their guest is the Icelandic soprano Álfheiður Erla Guðmundsdóttir. The programme sets Christmas music beside songs from different periods — Schubert, Hugo Wolf, Sibelius, Bach, Fauré, Ravel, Arvo Pärt and others.
The concerts open Ópus Reykjavík, a new series founded by Álfheiður Erla and presented jointly with Harpa. She was Harpa's ECHO Rising Star for 2025–26 and sang the title role in Unsuk Chin's Alice in Wonderland at the Theater an der Wien. Von Otter has sung opera and song for four decades, mostly on Deutsche Grammophon; summer 2026 she took a principal role in Daníel Bjarnason's Passion of the Common Man at the Bregenzer Festspiele.
