Samkór Kópavogs was founded in October 1966 and marks sixty years with this concert in Háteigskirkja. Among its founders was Jan Morávek, a musician of Czech origin, who was also the first to conduct it. Its guests are the tenor Elmar Gilbertsson and his daughter, the soprano Alvilda Eyvör Elmarsdóttir, who is studying at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki. The programme mixes Icelandic and foreign folk songs and art songs with well-known numbers from opera. Peter Máté plays the piano and Lenka Mátéová conducts.
