Patrick Egersborg wants a career as an opera singer and suspects the world may not last long enough for one. He builds the evening out of that. Arias from Rigoletto, Macbeth, The Flying Dutchman and Man of La Mancha are cut with his own writing and a good deal of self-mockery. Herning Opera Festival commissioned the piece after seeing excerpts at Reykjavík Opera Days in 2023, and it opened in Denmark the following year. Egersborg sings, Stefan Ibsen Zlatanos plays.
