Lunchtime concert with Örn Árnason

Bústaðakirkja gives a concert at five past twelve every Wednesday in October and collects for Ljósið, a centre in Reykjavík that describes its work as rehabilitation for people who have had a cancer diagnosis. The series is headed Lífið er fegurð og gleði, life is beauty and gladness. On the last Wednesday of the month the actor Örn Árnason and Jónas Þórir, the church organist, perform revue songs and comic numbers. Jónas Þórir puts the lunchtime programme together each year. Admission is free, a collection is taken for Ljósið, and the pink ribbons of Krabbameinsfélagið, the cancer society, are on sale. There are refreshments afterwards in the parish hall.
