Kammerkórinn Aurora

A chamber choir of young women that works within the Domus vox singing school. Margrét J. Pálmadóttir founded it in 1997, when twenty women between twenty-two and forty travelled to Rome at the invitation of the artist Auro and sang soon afterwards at a festival in Rimini. Sigríður Soffía Hafliðadóttir took over as conductor in the autumn of 2015. Its singers are between seventeen and thirty-three and all of them have studied solo singing at the school. The choir has often sung with the Iceland Symphony, among other things in Howard Shore's music for The Lord of the Rings in 2012 and in Mahler's third symphony in 2014, and it has taken part in productions at Borgarleikhúsið, most recently the musical 9 líf. In the spring of 2025 it was nominated, with Stúlknakór Reykjavíkur, at Sögur, the children's awards.
