Gísli Magna

A choral conductor, singing teacher and arranger who has conducted Léttsveit Reykjavíkur since the autumn of 2012. He learned the piano as a child at Tónmenntaskólinn í Reykjavík, studied singing at Söngskólinn í Reykjavík with Ólöf Kolbrún Harðardóttir and then trained as a music teacher at Tónlistarskólinn í Reykjavík. For a time he studied singing at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, and in 2007 he began at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen, taking its diploma three years later. He has sung with Schola Cantorum, the Langholtskirkja choir and the chamber choir Carmina, and in productions at the Icelandic Opera and the Reykjavík City Theatre. He was lead arranger for the entertainment programme AllStars on the Danish channel TV2 and arranger for the Christmas concerts Frostrósir Klassík, and he has conducted the Icelandic choir Staka and the Icelandic Women's Choir in Copenhagen, the Danish choir Carmen Curlers, and the Icelandic Choir in London.
