Stykkishólmskirkja

Stykkishólmskirkja was drawn by Jón Haraldsson and consecrated on 6 May 1990. It is concrete, with a porch and a tower, and it stands high above the town and is seen from a long way off: it is one of two churches the parish owns and one of the landmarks of the place. The altarpiece is by Kristín Gunnlaugsdóttir and shows Mary with the infant Jesus. The organ came from Johannes Klais Orgelbau in 2012 and has twenty-two stops, from the workshop that built the organ in Hallgrímskirkja.
