On Monday 19 October at 20:00, Mikhail Pletnev gives a recital in Eldborg. The first half pairs four preludes and fugues from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier — D major BWV 874, G minor BWV 861, G major BWV 884, B-flat minor BWV 867 — with Schumann's Kreisleriana, Op. 16. The second half turns to Grieg: sixteen of the Lyric Pieces, those short piano works named for a butterfly, a brook, a summer evening.
Pletnev was born in 1957 and won first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1978. He also conducts and composes, and has arranged music from Tchaikovsky's ballets for the piano.
Tickets are about 5,990 to 13,990 krónur. The evening is listed here: Mikhail Pletnev at Eldborg.
