Iceland Symphony Orchestra 2026–27 · Instrumental recital
Elisabeth Leonskaja
Presented by Iceland Symphony Orchestra
Elisabeth Leonskaja plays alone, the day after she appears with the orchestra. The programme is Beethoven's Fantasy, Op. 77, which he probably improvised first at a concert in 1808 and wrote down a year later, and Schubert's last piano sonata, in B flat, written shortly before his death and published after it. Leonskaja was born in Georgia, won the Enesco piano competition in 1964 and has lived in Vienna since 1978. About an hour, without an interval.
