Anok is a new work by Högni Egilsson, written for Cantoque Ensemble with organ, cello, percussion and two soloists. Anok is the Coptic word for I. Its text comes from an ancient poem found at Nag Hammadi in Upper Egypt in 1945, in a copy made in the fourth century, in which one voice describes herself in contradictions: the first and the last, mother and daughter. Högni Egilsson conducts, and the soloists are Hallveig Rúnarsdóttir and Hildigunnur Einarsdóttir. The concert is made with Iceland Airwaves and Hallgrímskirkja.
