Kór Menntaskólans við Hamrahlíð
The choir of Menntaskólinn við Hamrahlíð, an upper secondary school in Reykjavík. It first came together on 18 October 1967, after Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir was hired to lead the singing there, a year after the school itself opened. She conducted it for fifty years and retired in 2017, and in 1982 she founded Hamrahlíðarkórinn, a choir of older students, alongside the school choir. Hreiðar Ingi Þorsteinsson took over the conducting in the autumn of 2017. The choir has travelled widely from its earliest days, at home and abroad.
