Kammerkórinn Huldur

A chamber choir of twenty-nine young singers, first heard in the autumn of 2021 and conducted by Hreiðar Ingi Þorsteinsson. Its name is taken from the huldur of two Icelandic poems, who drives the waves before her with a langspil deep in the sea in Grímur Thomsen and sews sun-gold into the spray of the waterfall in Hannes Pétursson. Two years after it was founded the choir had given the first performances of twenty-eight choral works, among them pieces by Hafsteinn Þórólfsson, Hildigunnur Rúnarsdóttir, Hróðmar Ingi Sigurbjörnsson and Hugi Guðmundsson. It sang at Reykjavík Opera Days in 2023.
