Graduale Nobili
A choir of singers between eighteen and thirty, all of whom have finished a musical education or are in the middle of one. Jón Stefánsson founded it in 2000 from singers who had grown out of Gradualekór Langholtskirkju, twenty-four young women at the start. It took second place at the European youth choir competition in Kalundborg in Denmark the year after that, and it has since won medals at Tampere and at Llangollen in Wales. It has given first performances of many Icelandic and foreign works and released recordings, among them In Paradisum in 2008, which is Icelandic music throughout. Over the winter of 2010 and 2011 the choir sang on Björk Guðmundsdóttir's Biophilia, and it went on tour with her until the autumn of 2013. It has also sung with the American band Fleet Foxes.
