A soprano and Grammy winner. She came to wide attention after the Metropolitan Opera's national auditions in 2007 and the documentary made about them, The Audition, and has since sung at the Met in L'elisir d'amore, Parsifal, The Magic Flute, Jenůfa, Rusalka, Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung. She made her mainland European debut in the title role of Berg's Lulu in Rome in 2017 and sang the title role of Silvia Colasanti's Proserpine at the Spoleto Festival in 2019. She first appeared with the Iceland Symphony at its Vienna concerts in 2009.
